SLC ends contract with Tom Moody ahead of T20 World Cup 2022

The eighth edition of the t20 world cup is around the corner. In October Australia the defending champions will host this edition. Sri Lanka has recently participated in Asia Cup. The team performed very well and surprised everyone with their performance. The team won their sixth title of the Asia Cup. But suddenly before the t20 world cup, Sri Lanka Cricket Board ended their contract with Tom Moody.

Tom Moody’s contract with SLC

Tom Moody was director of the Sri Lanka Cricket Board. He was the head coach for the Sri Lanka team during 2005-2007. During his tenure, the team went to the 2007 world cup finals. He took the role of director of the cricket board in March last year. He also stepped down from the role of head coach of Sunrises Hyderabad in IPL this year. Moody was paid $1,850 a day plus expenses for the 100 days a year. The SLC explained that they cannot bear the expenses of him in future.

SLC Statement :

“The Executive Committee of the SLC, after much deliberation, was of the opinion that Tom Moody’s services are no longer required as he was directly reporting to the Technical Advisory Commitee, which has ceased to exist now.”
