BCCI President Sourav Ganguly has finally announced the venue for the Asia Cup 2022.

The tournament is finally going to be held in the UAE after Sri Lanka contacted the ACC.

The island nation will not be able to host the tournament due to massive economic and political struggles that have ravaged the country.

Ganguly said that the UAE would be free of rain during the tournament.

The BCCI had their Apex Council meeting yesterday where they discussed a lot of agendas.

The top-most priority was given to India’s domestic cricket scenario and what are the plans of the BCCI.

BCCI has decided to hold a full-fledged domestic season for 2022-23.

The proceedings for the domestic season will start with the Duleep Trophy on the 8th of September.

After this, the Irani Cup will be played from October 1-5.

Then came the discussion of the major domestic tournaments like the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, Vijay Hazare Trophy and the Ranji Trophy.

The BCCI has decided to hold the Ranji Trophy in its original format with each team getting its full quota of seven matches.

And in order to win the Ranji Trophy, all teams must play a minimum of 10 matches which will make the tournament more competitive this year.

Additionally, the BCCI is also going to launch a women’s U-16 category in the upcoming season.
