Sridharan Sriram designated as assistant coach for Lucknow Super Giants

Sridharan Sriram will be an assistant coach for LSG in Ipl 2024. The announcement of his appointment by LSG was on Saturday, September 9.

For Ipl 2024, the LSG members will consist of former Australian head coach Justin Langer alongside mentor Gautam Gambhir. In addition, Vijay Dahiya and Pravin Tambe will continue their individual roles of assistant coach and spin bowling coach.

In the meantime, South African mates Morne Morkel and Jonty Rhodes will hold on to their respective roles of bowling coach and fielding coach. The LSG, on their social media handle, shared the news of Sridharan Sriram’s new role as an assistant coach for their franchise in Ipl 2024.

“Sridharan Sriram brings with him extensive coaching experience. In his tenure with the Bangladesh men’s national T-20 team, he skillfully led them to secure two remarkable victories in the Super-12s of the (2022) T-20 World Cup. RPSG Sports and Lucknow Super Giants are thrilled to welcome the seasoned coach and looking forward to an exciting journey ahead!”

Previously, Sridharan Sriram was the assistant coach of Bangladesh in 2022 for the Super 12 stage of the ICC T20 World Cup held in Australia. He was the technical consultant of the Bangladesh team.

He has also served Australia for six years, starting in 2016. His assistance has been helpful for the Australian cricket team to win the T20 World Cup. Moreover, his presence also helped the Australian cricket team to win Ashes between 2021-2022.

Sridharan Sriram has also been the assistant coach of the Royal Challengers Bangalore franchise. He was assisting the RCB squad with batting and spin-bowling.

In addition, during his career, he played for Tamil Nadu, Maharashtra, Goa, Assam, and Himachal Pradesh in domestic cricket. Further, he also played eight ODIs for India.
