Sterling to Chelsea? Can it Happen?

Chelsea and Thomas Tuchel are frustrated with the number of chances they’ve created and missed. If they can sell anyone from Pullisic, Werner, and Ziyech they can make some room and make an official bid for Sterling.

The blues are currently stocked for options in the final third but they’d like to convert the missed chances. Man City a.k.a premier league champions may hesitate to sell the winger, especially to a rival but anything above 60 million is open to talking.

Los Blancos are also monitoring the situation with the winger especially after missing out on Mbappe.

What can Sterling bring on for the Blues?

Sterling who is now 27 hasn’t been to London for a long time. The last time he was in London he was playing for QPR aged 15 in a youth setup.

The fact that Sterling has been so good for the team is because he played with the right set of players around him. In a master setup by Pep, he got an environment to flourish. Any new addition to the blues must coincide with the arrival of creativeness in the midfield.

Chelsea from London have finished third this season but the finish is way below their expectation. The reinforcement such as Lukaku wasn’t enough to challenge for the title. Goals accompanied by clinical finish are one of the main reasons why pensioners have struggled.

Chelsea needs a creative mind alongside Mason Mount who possesses the vision of one Cesc Fabregas. Sterling can be that missing link taking duties from the wing and helping Havertz to focus on the attacking midfield position.

Amidst all the news creating worry there’s one positive, Tuchel will have a war chest of 200 million. This should be enough to compete with the likes of Man City and Liverpool. Reinforcement in the defense is needed as Rudiger, and Christensen is all set to leave. Joules Kounde has appeared to be a likely option but he has been a likely option for the last 2 years.

Chelsea finished 19 points behind league champions Man City and 18 points behind Liverpool. For the European champions, it ended up pretty bad which also included two domestic cup final defeats.

With Todd Bohely taking over the ownership, Chelsea can dream of good days ahead. Although the era of Roman Abramovich ended very badly even after what he did for the pensioners. Major rebuilding isn’t required just a little touchup will bring the pride of London back on track.
