Indian team has been handed over defeat in all major ICC tournaments during the knockout stages. The former England captain Naseer Hussain blamed India’s timid approach behind this.

The eighth edition of the t20 world cup is going to start within a few days. Australia who are defending champions are going to host this edition of the mega event. Indian fans are very excited for their team and hope the team might end their losing streak in knockout tournaments and finally win an ICC tournament. BCCI released the 15-member squad for the t20 world cup already.

Naseer Hussain on the team squad and approach

India is struggling in ICC tournaments for a long time now. The last ICC tournament which India won was ICC Champions Trophy 2013. India then has been kicked out after the defeat in every knockout stage. According to Naseer Hussain, India needed to come out of its conservative approach. India has to play with the same mindset as what they played in the bilateral series. India tried and tested many players and also played with winning combinations. They have to follow this approach in this tournament.

Hussain’s statement:

“India’s issues have been ICC events really. They have been going around beating everyone, with a variety of players, they have rotated and rested. But the truth is that they have played some timid cricket in world events, like almost gone into their shell. They definitely played some fearful cricket in the last World Cup, especially in the powerplays. India have got to keep the hitting potential. Suryakumar Yadav has been in unbelievable form. They are missing two great cricketers in Jadeja and Bumrah. They have got to keep the same mindset they have had in the bilateral events.”

Team India will start their campaign against Pakistan on October 23. India played a warm-up game against Western Australia where India won.
