MS Dhoni, former Indian captain, is one of the most loved cricketers in India. Under the captaincy of Dhoni, Chennai Super Kings won the recently concluded IPL. However, captain cool is not sure whether he will be a part of the IPL 2022. This means it can be possible that he wouldn’t be leading Chennai Super Kings.
After the end of the IPL 2021, Dhoni said that a lot depends on the BCCI and how things work out after the addition of two new teams in the league. However, to all CSK fans, it will be a piece of great news because he wants to play his last match in the Chennai stadium.
Recently, the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu MK Stalin talked about Dhoni and stated how he and his father are big fans of the legendary skipper. Stalin talked about an incident when he was invited by N Srinivasan to a match as the Chief Minister.
However, Stalin went to the match as he is a big fan of MS Dhoni. The Chief Minister talked about how MS keeps calm and cool every time and deals with difficult situations in life. Stalin also congratulated the former Indian captain for leading CSK to their fourth IPL trophy.
CM wants to see Dhoni in the field for many more years and wants him to lead the team. In the 2021 IPL, CSK made a great comeback by winning the Cup as they had a bad campaign in the previous season.

Dhoni has been the skipper of the IPL franchise from the start of the marquee tournament to date (he was a part of Rising Pune Super Giants for two years when the CSK franchise was banned).
This has eventually made Dhoni the face of the Chennai Super Kings. We cannot forget that in all this year’s Dhoni has helped the team reach the finals multiple times and has won it four times as well.
In an interview, MK Stalin said,
“Although N Srinivasan called me as the Chief Minister, I came as a fan of Dhoni and even my father Karunanidhi was a fan of Dhoni. His state is Jharkhand but he is now like a loveable boy of Tamil Nadu. He is always cool and knows how to deal with difficult times.”
Stalin further added,
“He is a great captain and good at leading the team. I hereby congratulate him and the entire franchise of CSK on winning this year’s IPL. We wish to see Dhoni playing for CSK for many more seasons,”
Over the years there has been a constant debate about when he should retire. Of course, the form of MS has dipped but it seems like he will be back as the skipper of CSK next season and may retire after that.
Although nothing is official till now but he is willing to play his last match in front of the Chennai crowd. This makes it more likely to happen. It will depend upon the new teams (Lucknow and Ahmedabad) and the upcoming mega action.
