Young Indian pacer, Arshdeep Singh, had an impressive outing against South Africa in the first T20 international. Singh chipped in 3 crucial wickets and shattered the top order. Surprisingly, Arshdeep was after the Asia Cup 2022. As a result, he missed the series against Australia. However, the focus is now on the left-arm pacer for the forthcoming T20 World Cup. He is a part of India’s 15-member squad for ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2022.

Incidentally, Arshdeep Singh had a poor run in the Asia Cup 2022. He was trolled mercilessly for his dropped catch against Pakistan. It cost India a place in the final of the tournament. However, the youngster is unfazed by all the outside noise and is all set for the main event. In a recent interview, he shared his plans and strategies for the World Cup.

“Looking forward to do amazing things,” Arshdeep Singh is hopeful of a good run at the World Cup

Arshdeep Singh opens up on his plans for the upcoming World Cup. He said that “adaptability” will be the team’s biggest motive in Australia. Overall, he is looking forward to the challenging Australian conditions.

“Adaptability is the big motive of our team. The main motive is adapting to the situations and demands of the team, whatever the situations and conditions areWhen we go to Australia, we will see how the conditions are. I’m looking forward to doing well”

The pacer further added that the team is working hard by sweating it out in the practice sessions. Secondly, the game against South Africa will be a major confidence booster for the bowling department.

“We are trying to tick all the boxes in the practice sessions and trying to execute all our plans on the field. Today was really a good example of showing a good power play bowling and we are looking forward to do amazing things in the coming days”

“They told me you’re ‘in the plan’,” Singh reveals his interaction with the selectors

The left-arm pacer spilled beans on his rest days at the National Cricket Academy (NCA). He said that he was sent there to get rejuvenated before the main ICC event.

“The purpose of the last 10 days was to get refreshed and come back stronger and fitter that will help me in my bowling. I feel really refreshed and looking forward to doing good things on the field”

Arshdeep Singh further revealed his conversation with management prior to being named to the senior team.

“They told me you’re ‘in the plan’ back end of the IPL, that I’m in the scene… I guess the main motive was to keep doing well whatever opportunities I get, that’s my job and I don’t think much about the selection part”

“Getting the wickets early on was always a great feeling. The plan was really simple, the ball was swinging. I had to pitch it in the right places and it worked well. It was about hitting the right areas and making sure the line was good.”
