French legend Thierry Henry claims that Kai Havertz reminds him of his former Arsenal teammate and Dutch legend Robin Van Persie.

Arsenal are in advanced negotiations to sign Havertz this summer. Chelsea have set their asking price at £80 million and they have already rejected an offer from Gunners, according to the Guardian.

Chelsea are willing to sell Havertz, if a suitable bid arrives for the German International this summer. Arsenal are said to be in pole position to sign him.

But, Gunners could face competition from Bayern Munich. The German Giants are on search for a striker this summer.

Kai Havertz joined Chelsea from Bayern Leverkusen in 2020 for £62.5 million. However, he didn’t leave upto his expectations at the Stanford Bridge so far.

The 24-year-old still has two years left in his contract at Chelsea and this is the right time, they’ll look to cash in on him this summer. Blues are also in pressure to sell the player before June 30, if their sales are to be include their accounts for the 2022/23 season.

However, Thierry Henry now compares Havertz to his former teammate Robin Van Persie. He told CBS sports :-

“He reminds me sometimes, a little, of Robin back to goal the way he can hold the ball.

“Robin van Persie was very good with his left foot, the touch was always immaculate and he tried to bring people along.

“This is why out of the guys that used to be wingers or No 10 he plays as a nine because with his back to goal he can hold the ball well.

“Now he needs to make sure he can transform that into more goals because you can play off him.”
