A poor display by Manchester United once again against arch-rivals Manchester City has left the board in the mud. Meanwhile, Erik Ten Hag has made it clear that he has no interest in joining Manchester United.

Amidst Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s poor management and the team’s worsening form, many managers were under the club’s radar to replace the Norwegian. Antonio Conte, Zinedine Zidane and Erik Ten Hag were listed as the top contenders for the United job.

While Conte was favourite to join, but his sudden move to Tottenham Hotspur has now again created a dilemma for the Man Utd board.

Manchester United seemingly running out of options for suitable manager replacements

The Red Devils’ horrendous form is straight away being blamed over Ole. The Norwegian is lacking proper tactics to challenge for any title. As a result, the 48-yrs-old manager is now on the verge of an exit while the club still has no plans for his replacement.

Ten Hag is one of the top choices but he has made it clear that he has no intention to join. He is content with Ajax and has no plans of leaving the club in the middle of the season. In fact, he is ready to take on the big clubs in the Champions League with the de Godenzonen.

Meanwhile, Ajax are currently topping the Eredivisie with 27 points and have already sealed their spot in the Champions League Ro16 this season, with 2 games still left to play.

Erik Ten Hag’s playing style and experience will be beneficial for Man United

The Dutchman has been very successful at Ajax since his takeover in 2017, as he brought the club back in the title race the same year. Since then he has managed 184 matches at the Dutch club. Backing his time at the Johann Cruyff Arena, the 51-yrs-old manager has won two Eredivisie titles and two KNVB Cups.

He also was responsible of taking the youth filled Ajax team to the UCL semi-finals in the 2018/19 season, having defeated Super Giants Real Madrid and Juventus in the way. While putting it in numbers, Ten Hag boasts almost a 74% win percentage.

The Dutchman prefers to play a 4-3-3 formation, occasionally changing it to 4-2-3-1. This is also one of Man United’s preferred positions under Ole Gunnar. The only difference is that Ole lacks the end product and the playing style, while Ten Hag has mastered the formation and successfully delivers it every time.

It is believed that the Dutchman’s experience and winning tendency can match United’s long lost legacy which Ole seems to be missing having just managed Molde and Cardiff. Meanwhile, the Red Devils will face Watford in their Premier League clash on 20th November with the Norwegian manager still on the hot-seat.
