Tuchel may return to PSG for a second stint

Tuchel

Thomas Tuchel could surprise everyone by joining PSG for the second time after leaving Chelsea in September last year.

According to RMC sports, the German still has fans in Paris despite his poor spell before moving to Chelsea in 2021. Tuchel was in charge of PSG from 2018 to 2020 leading them to the Champions League final and had 2.35 points per game record at the club.

He was sacked in December 2020, fourth months after making appearances in the Champion league final. His fallout with PSG’s director Leonardo Araujo over recruitment at the club can be one of the reasons.

Tuchel was succeeded by Mauricio Pochettino and then Christophe Galtier, but the French manager is currently struggling with the club and might be fired in near future. This week’s loss against Bayern Munich is their 3rd consecutive defeat, the first time since 2011.

The current situation has made them believe that Galtier is not up to the job and club officials might find a suitable replacement to steady the situation. Frenchman’s dismissal is being discussed internally and defeat to Bayern again on 8th March can lead to his exit.

Nasser Al-Khelaifi looks to keen on bringing Zinedine Zidane which will be a dream for PSG fans. Zidane was earlier approach for the managerial role to replace Mauricio Pochettino. But Zizou rejected it.

Tuchel can be consider a proper replacement at PSG. German has already proven himself in Chelsea by winning the Champions League.

Return looks on the cards for Tuchel, especially with Leonardo leaving the club long ago.
