Thomas Tuchel wants Croatian midfielder Mateo Kovacic at Bayern next season. However, he has not been officially announced as the new manager of Bayern Munich.

According to CMW reports, Tuchel would like to secure the services of Kovacic for Bayern from his former club Chelsea. The German manager was sacked by the Blues earlier this year.

Liverpool are also interest in a 28-year-old Chelsea midfielder. 90mins journalist Graeme Bailey said on the Taking Transfer podcast this month that Liverpool are interested in signing Kovacic in the summer transfer window.

But, Kovacic would find Bayern more appealing due to their reputation. The German Giants regularly win the Bundesliga title and compete in UEFA Champions League. Moreover, Tuchel already knows about his qualities.

Kovacic is yet to sign a contract at Chelsea and the decision will be made on his future very soon. His contract expires in the summer of 2024. However, reports suggest that Blues want the Croatian to stay and plan to offer him a fresh contract.

Meanwhile, Kovacic is also getting interest from other big clubs in Europe. Manchester City and AC Milan are also monitoring the midfielder and will try to sign him in the summer.
