Chelsea had a perfect day with respect to their result against Juventus but Tuchel is primarily worried about the injuries of Kante and Chilwell. Both players were doing very well until Kante was substituted as he was limping in the first half. While Chilwell suffered a knee injury in the second half and needed help going off the pitch.
Chelsea booked their spot in the Champions League last 16 with a thumping 4-0 victory against Juventus. Kante has been instrumental every time has stepped on the pitch. He is also one of Chelsea’s most important players. Whereas Chilwell had started to find his form from the left. Both Ben Chilwell and Reece James are playing like a nightmare to their opponents. James was once again successful in finding the back of the net from a very tight angle.
Chelsea will be hosting Manchester United this weekend. Meanwhile, Manchester United have also qualified for the last 16 of the Champions League. Their win over Villarreal in Spain was a convincing one for the Red Devils. Although United were in a poor run of results, their victory at Villarreal shows what they are capable of producing. While the injuries of Kante and Chilwell will only help United and is a huge setback for Chelsea.
Kante and Chilwell injuries can play in hands of Manchester United
Chelsea have a big game coming on this Sunday. Although United are not in the best of their forms but they can build from their win against Villarreal and hurt Chelsea. Kante and Chilwell both gave a sense of assurance about their game which is what every manager wants. Chelsea are top of the Premier League table 3 points above Manchester City. The Blues would not like to lose their lead against Manchester United.
Although Ruben Loftus-Cheek made a pretty good appearance against Juventus and got himself an assist. Nevertheless, only a few players in the world can do the job of N’Golo Kante as good as Kante does for the Blues. Kante gives a defensive assurance and also has the ability to hurt teams on the counter or long shots.
On the other hand, Chilwell had a slow start to his Chelsea career but is now starting ahead of Marcos Alonso. His frightening pace on the left and the ability to cross and finish chances is what threaten the opponents the most. Even though Chelsea have very good depth in their squad, losing players like N’Golo Kante and Ben Chilwell is a huge blow for any team. Tuchel is hopeful that the injuries are not too bad and that the players will recover soon.
Chelsea would like to secure a win against Manchester United on Sunday. Considering United’s recent situation around the club, Chelsea are still the favourites to win this fixture. Even if Kante and Chilwell fail to join the squad, Marcos Alonso and Saul or Loftus-Cheek are pretty good second choices. Manchester United will give it their all to recover their season and Chelsea will have to be cautious and not be overconfident.
