Tottenham Hotspur comfortably defeated Brentford 2-0 in the Gameweek 14 of the Premier League on Thursday.

With the win, Tottenham Hotspur move up to 6th in the Premier League table. Spurs have picked up 22 points from 13 league games and still have a game in hand against Burnley that was delayed last week. Since the arrival of Antonio Conte, Spurs are unbeaten in the Premier League. They have picked up two wins and one draw in this time.

While Brentford still remain 12in the league table with the defeat. They have picked up 16 points from 14 league games. Brentford have now only picked up one win in their last five Premier League matches. The Bees will be hoping to turn their fortunes around as they travel to Elland Road to face Leeds United this Weekend.

Spurs look fairly comfortable throughout the game. Tottenham took the lead through a Sergi Canos own goal from a Son Heung-Min cross in the 10th minute. The bees looked a pale shadow of their freewheeling early season.

Harry Kane had a shot blocked by Alvaro Fernandez early in the second half. Son Heung-min doubled the home sides advantage in the 65th minute. He scored from a quick counter-attack as Sergio Reguilon picked out Son with a beautiful back post cross.

Antonio Conte after the game in his press conference said:

“It was a good performance against a dangerous team,”

“I’m happy because I have seen a great commitment and a good passion about the players.

“It’s a good reaction.. In a loss you learn a lot but now we have to think about another Premier League game on Sunday

Tottenham Player Ratings

Hugo Lloris 7

Lloris didn’t really have much to do the whole game. But he did really well to deal with Brentford’s aerial bombardment.

Davinson Sanchez 5

Sanches looked very unsure in possession and looked uncomfortable dealing with long balls over the top.

Eric Dier 7

Looked solid in the Centre of defense and played a few long passes. Looked good bringing possession out of defense and won a few important aerial duels.

Ben Davies 8

Davies claimed the opening goal. Made some good runs down the left flank and put in some good crosses. Linked up well with Reguilon.

Emerson Royal 6

Emerson was quite poor with his crossing and looked shaky while defending against Rico Henry.

Sergio Reguilon 8

Played basically as a winger the whole game. Kept pushing forward and provided the assist for the 2nd Spurs goal.

Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg 7

Played a deeper role in midfield and made some key interceptions. Looked sharp and aggressive all game.

Oliver Skipp 7

Played as a box to box midfielder and helped drive the ball forward as well as making some tackles. Looked good defensively.

Lucas Moura 5

Forced an early save from Alvaro Fernandez but didn’t quite get into the game and offered very little in attack.

Heung-min Son 8

By far the best of the Spurs attackers on the day and looked sharp. Ended the day with a well-deserved goal.

Harry Kane 7

Dropped deep to link up the midfield and attack. Should have grabbed a goal for himself but continues with just one goal in the Premier League season so far.
