Tottenham head coach Antonio Conte has again praised the performance of Arsenal goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale. The saves of the England goalkeeper helped the Gunners win the game 2-0.
Hence, it looks like Conte again mentioned Ramsdale’s name after losing their match against Tottenham. Therefore, it looks like the Gunners spent the 30 million well signing the goalkeeper.
ANTONIO CONTE PRAISES THE PERFORMANCE OF ARSENAL GOALKEEPER AGAIN
Tottenham head coach Antonio Conte has again praised the performance of Arsenal goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale in their derby loss. The saves of the England goalkeeper also helped them maintain their 2-0 lead in the second half. Hence, this win also helped the Gunners maintain their eight-point lead over second-placed Manchester City. Although, the lead at the top is now five points. This is because the Spurs lost against Manchester 4-2. They were 2-0 up in the first half of the game.
The Tottenham manager Antonio Conte speaking after the loss against Manchester City said,
” For sure we are not happy. In the last two games we have lost against first and second in the table.
“But at the same time I think that we played good games, also against Arsenal. Against Arsenal their keeper was the best player on the pitch, we created chances.“
“Today also we created chances, we scored goals. But at the same time this season compared to last season we are conceding more goals.”
TOTTENHAM NEED TO MAKE SIGNINGS IN THE JANUARY TRANSFER WINDOW TO MAINTAIN THEIR TOP 6 POSITION THIS SEASON
According to reports, Tottenham are making very slow progress on making signings in the January transfer window. They want to sign right-back Pedro Porro from Sporting. However, they are not willing at the moment to pay his full 36 million release clause. Although, Sporting have made it clear that they will only sell him for his release clause fee in January. Antonio Conte has also said many times that teams around them and below them are making investments in January.
Therefore, it is clear Tottenham also needs to increase squad depth with signings in the January transfer window. Many pundits have also called Antonio Conte a crybaby for demanding signings in every window. Former Spurs player Jamie O’Hara has also said that Conte can improve the team by improving the ability of his fringe players in the squad. He has also said Conte to take inspiration from Newcastle United manager Eddie Howe. Eddie Howe has spent a good amount of money in the transfer window. However, he has also improved players like Joelinton and Fabian Schar in the squad that were underperforming under their previous manager.
Hence, it is clear that Tottenham will have to resolve the future of Antonio Conte at the end of the season. However, the main target at the moment is to qualify for the Champions League the next season. Hence, the Spurs owners do need to make at least two more signings for the squad depth to tackle the busy schedule.
