According to Daily Mail, Spurs have given permission to Dele Alli to leave in January. The 25-year-old is out of form since Pochettino left the club in 2019. However, he was linked with a move to PSG and uniting with the former Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino. Nevertheless, the move fell and Alli ended up staying at Tottenham Hotspur. Moreover, Conte and Alli are both happy with the attacker leaving the club.
Dele Alli is out of favour since Jose Mourinho took over and has never returned to his best. He was one of the best youngsters when he was introduced to the Premier League. He was deemed to be one of the best players in the world by seeing his potential. Moreover, Alli has also failed to impress under Nuno Espirito and Antonio Conte. Pochettino was the only manager where he showed his best potential. Alli was scoring quite well under the Argentian manager and was a part of Spurs’ march towards the UCL final.
Dele Alli scored 18 goals in 37 appearances in the Premier League in 2016/17. He was just 20 years old and looked undroppable from that Spurs side. He is still 25-years-old and nowhere near his prime. Dele Alli is not even close to starting a Premier League game for the Spurs. He is now only played in small club matches. Moreover, the England international is also not delivering goals or assists in these cup matches.
Why Dele Alli leaving Spurs is the best decision for both the parties?
The English international needs a new life and refreshment to restart his career. A club change can profit him a lot as it will give him a chance for a fresh start. He is majorly out of form and scored from the spot in August last. Spurs have a good record of losing just one match when Dele Alli has scored. However, he cannot be at the club just because of this record and needs to get his career back on track. In his prime, he was one of the best playmakers in Europe and also a great goalscorer. However, he has failed to step up when Spurs need him the most. As a result, he is now out of favour from Antonio Conte.
Tottenham are in the state of a rebuild and want to be a strong force again in Europe. Fabio Paratici is going to back Antonio Conte with funds for transfers in making the club successful. Spurs can profit from the sale of Dele Alli as it frees up some space in the squad. Moreover, it will also bring in funds for more signings. Dele Alli has a contract with the club till 2024 and can go out at a decent price. Spurs are also ready for a loan move and see if he can perform to his best again.
If Dele Alli flourishes after a loan move then it will be a plus sign for both player and the club. If Dele Alli returns to his best then it will be bad news for all the Spurs’ opponents. It will almost be like a new signing for Tottenham and he has the potential to take Spurs to the next level.
