According to Daily Mail, Antonio Conte has held talks with Tottenham Hotspur Chairman to discuss their focus on the January transfer market. The report adds that the Italian manager wants to sign two forwards for the club. He wants a suitable backup for Harry Kane as Heung-Min Son is also due to spend time on the sidelines.

One of the names which came up was Adama Traore from Wolverhampton Wanderers. He can play as a wingback that perfectly fits Conte’s demands of a wide player and also provide the attacking threat that Conte needs. Traore can do much more while playing under Conte as he has already demolished bigger clubs during his time at Wolves.

A suitable backup for Harry Kane is a sensible way to go as the first-choice striker has speculations of leaving the club soon. Moreover, his strike partner Son is also injured and may take some time to return to action. It makes perfect sense to find an eligible striker for Conte. The manager is capable of doing the maximum if he gets what he wants.

Daniel Levy has also committed to supporting Conte before. Therefore, the probability of Tottenham signing players in January is high. This will improve Tottenham not only for this season but also for the next few years. Conte wants to make Tottenham a force in the Premier League with Levy who has the same goal.

Why does Tottenham Hotspur want attackers in January?

Tottenham’s intention with Adama Traore is to play him as a right-wing-back. Traore has the qualities to do the role and succeed. Traore’s threatening pace will make him fall back quickly or also join a counterattack quickly. With Adama Traore, Spurs is not only getting an attacker but also a player who can cover the whole right flank.

Harry Kane leaving the club might create a hole in the Tottenham squad. However, he has to be replaced quickly if he is to leave. Moreover, Heung-Min Son has also been a very important part of the club for the past few years. Harry Kane and Son were a lethal combo for their opponents. Nevertheless, Spurs will have to search for a new combo to move forward in the next season.

Conte has solidified the Spurs defense to some extent. If he is able to strengthen the attack and midfield then Spurs can be an unstoppable team. Moreover, this is just in a few months that he has spent at the club. If he spends a year or two then he is capable of achieving even more.

The report also suggests that Spurs are open to offers for Matt Doherty, Tanguy Ndombele, Dele Alli, and Steven Bergwijn. If these players get sold then Spurs will need some attacking strength and depth to stay in the battle for the top four. The new signings will be helpful in the future seasons to help the club become a strong force in Europe.
