According to reports, Antonio Conte and Tottenham Hotspurs are willing to let both Dele Alli and Matt Doherty walk away from the club in the January transfer window.

Dele Alli was once seen as one of the most promising youngsters in the Premier League. But in the last few seasons, the English attacking midfielder seems like a shadow of his past self. Last term Alli made just 15 appearances in the Premier League and recorded just one assist. ( stats via Transfermarkt)

Following the trend from last season, Alli has made just nine appearances in the Premier League. In this time he has recorded just one goal. Dele Alli did make a good impression in the 2-2 draw against Liverpool in the Premier League. But Antonio Conte is still prepared to let the English midfielder walk free from the club in the January transfer window.

On the other hand, things have not gone to plan at all for Matt Doherty since his switch from Wolves last summer. The Portuguese right-back has made a total of just 38 appearances for the club in all competitions (stats via Tranfermarkt). Doherty has failed to impress the Spurs faithful. He has also failed to really cement a place in the Spurs’ starting line-up.

This term too the right-back has struggled for game time. He has made just three appearances in the Premier League. While he has only played a total of 54 minutes of league action so far. But it looks certain now that the Portugal international will love a move away from the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in the January transfer window.

Tottenham Hotspur’s January transfer window checklist

Evening Standard has reported that both Dele Alli and Matt Doherty have been granted the green light by Tottenham Hotspur to seek a move elsewhere. Reports also suggest that Dele Alli is looking for a short loan move away from the club to revive his football career.

While Antonio Conte is also keen to offload both Joe Rodon and Steven Bergwijn in the January transfer window. Just like Doherty, both Rondon and Bergwijn have struggled to cement their place in the starting line-up since their move to the club. Tottenham Hotspur are looking to sign a new right wing-back to add competition for Emerson Royal.
