According to a recent report by Fichajes, Tottenham Hotspur are interested in signing Bayern Munich centre-half Niklas Sule on a free transfer next summer. Reports also suggest that the club are ‘preparing’ an offer for the German centre-half.

Spurs manager Antonio Conte is reportedly keen to sign the 26-year-old. Reports suggest that Conte has ‘asked’ the Tottenham hierarchy to sign the centre-half in the summer. Alongside Tottenham Hotspur, Premier League clubs including Newcastle United, West Ham United and Chelsea are all scouting the centre-half.

Niklas Sule is out of contract in the summer. Reports earlier this month suggested that Sule is set to leave Bayern at the end of the season on a free transfer. But Bayern chief executive Oliver Kahn confirmed that the centre-half was set to leave on a free transfer at the end of the season.

Since his move from Hoffenheim, Sule has made 158 appearances for Bayern Munich in all competitions. In this time he has recorded six goals and set up a further four during his time with the German champions. This term he has made 25 appearances for the German outfit in all competitions. Is Niklas Sule a good fit for Tottenham Hotspur?

Niklas Sule has proven himself on the international stage as well as in the Champions League. The centre-half has 37 caps for his national team at just 26-years of age. on top of that, he has proven himself as a good defender and a leader at the back. He is also great at reading the game, as well as reading danger. While he is brilliant at making crucial interceptions to end the opposition attack.

The German defender has averaged 1 tackle, 0.9 interceptions and 1.7 clearances per game in the Bundesliga this term. On top of that, he has maintained a pass accuracy of 89.9% in the league this term and also averaged 3.6 long balls per game. (stats via Whoscored)

On top of that Sule stands at 1.95m tall. His height is a threat in the opposition box from indirect freekicks and corners. While the German wins headers and defends in his own box. He seems to be a great fit for Antonio Conte’s three centre-half preferred formation.

Tottenham’s transfer chief Fabio Paratici has been an expert in pulling off free transfers over the years. This looks like another good free transfer deal that Paratici might pull off in the summer.
