However, there have been no indications so far of Liverpool making any significant efforts to meet his £52 million valuation. The club has not shown a proactive approach in pursuing a deal for the player.
This week, it was revealed that Paris Saint-Germain made an offer matching Ugarte’s release clause. However, according to transfer insider Fabrizio Romano, the payment terms of PSG created an opportunity for Chelsea to potentially outbid them. The nature of the payment terms has left the door open for Chelsea to make a more attractive offer. This suggests that Chelsea could still have a chance to surpass PSG’s bid for Ugarte. Klopp thus seems to have lost another potential transfer this summer.
