Vedat Muriqi of Lazio is rumored for a move to EFL Championship side West Brom in the January transfer window. As per La Lazio Siamo Noi, Muriqi is close to sign for the English side.

The Italian news outlet has reported that Lazio needs to sell players in order to fund new players this month.

As things stand, despite selling many players, Lazio needs to complete more sales. So, Muriqi is the next player lined up in the departure list.

The 27-year-old striker started his youth career at Liria Prizren and went on to earn senior caps with them.

Muriqi signed for Turkish side Fenerbahce in 2019 where he had a good season. He scored 15 goals in 32 matches and his performance attracted the eyes of many European clubs.

He signed a five-year deal for Serie A side Lazio in 2020. However, he managed to score only 1 goal in the 32 matches he played.

The 27-year-old striker also made his debut for Kosovo in 2016. He has managed to score 18 goals in 37 matches for his national side.

Vedat Muriqi’s possibility of signing

The signing of Muriqi seems to be a real possibility for West Brom as they are struggling for goals. West Brom has managed to score only 19 goals so far in the season.

However, Valerien Ismael’s issues lie deeper than simply signing a striker. Daryl Dike made his debut on Saturday against QPR and will hopefully get a start very soon.

So, the signing of a good midfielder along with the like of Muriqi might help the side create more chances in the final third.

The 27-year-old Kosovan center-forward will also be an affordable deal for West Brom. So the deal seems to be beneficial for both sides.

Other Interested clubs to sign Vedat Muriqi

Leeds United, CSKA Moscow, and Lokomotiv Moscow are said to be interested in the pursuit of the Kosovan international.

He was the first Kosovan player to feature in the Champions League last season.
