Former Indian legend Sunil Gavaskar talks about Virat Kohli’s batting position. He advocates for the fact that Kohli should only bat at no. 3 position where he has played all his life. This allows Kohli to play the most number of balls thinks Gavaskar.
However, former Indian team head coach Ravi Shastri talked about the possibility of making Virat Kohli bat at no. 4. Contrary to that Sunil Gavaskar feels Virat Kohli should only bat at no.3. Gavaskar feels this will allow the star batter to play the most no. of balls which will benefit the team.
Little master Sunil Gavaskar has his say,
“The best player must bat the maximum number of overs, and at number three he gets an opportunity to bat the maximum number of overs, So as far as I’m concerned, I think that’s the place where he’s been enormously successful. He’s been, you know, contributing. How many? 44 hundreds in that position, Maybe 43, maybe one in another position. But, he’s got so many hundreds in one day cricket batting at number three, why should they change that?“

Team India will be playing two major tournaments in next 2 months, Asia Cup and World Cup. And for India to do well, Virat Kohli will be very crucial. The 34-year old batter is in tremendous form, after coming out of a lean phase.
