Former India batsman and NCA head, VVS Laxman has joined the Asia Cup squad for the tournament on a temporary basis.

The BCCI has not yet made any official statements on this issue as it is a temporary measure till Rahul Dravid resumes his official duties.

That’s why VVS Laxman has flown directly to Dubai from Zimbabwe after finishing off a 3-match ODI series against the hosts.

Players selected from the Zimbabwe tour have continued their journey to Dubai.

All the other players have returned to India along with the coaching staff that had gone to Zimbabwe.

BCCI’s medical team is still monitoring Dravid’s health condition.

India is facing Pakistan for their first game of the Asia Cup on the 28th of August.

On the other hand, Shubhman Gill has signed up a four-match deal with Glamorgan recently.

The youngster’s move to county cricket was facilitated by head coach Dravid himself.

Sources close to the player have revealed that Shubhman will be travelling next week to England.

Glamorgan’s home ground in the County Championship is the Sofia Gardens.

Glamorgan’s remaining games are against Worcestershire, Middlesex, Derbyshire and Sussex. The County Championship will come to an end on the 29th of September.
