Watford will be hosting Arsenal on Sunday. The fixture will take place at 7:30 pm IST on 6th March at Vicarage Road. Arsenal will be playing their 25th match of the league whereas Watford will be playing their 27th match of the league. While Arsenal is fighting for a place in the top four, Watford are fighting to get out of the relegation zone.

Watford are currently 19th on the Premier League table with 19 points. The club recently appointed Roy Hodgson as their head coach and they managed to get a draw against Manchester United recently. However, they do not look in a good position in the relegation zone as they do not have games in hand to overtake their competitors.

Arsenal now looks like a strong team to beat as they are marching towards the fourth place to secure a Champions League spot. They are in great form right now after putting in strong performances week in and week out. They have won three games in a row which shows they are in great form. The Gunners will not like to settle for anything less than a win against Watford.

Team News

Watford vs Arsenal: The Hornets team news

Following the stalemate against Manchester United, Watford were dealt with an injury to winger Ismaila Sarr, who is likely to miss the clash against Arsenal due to a hamstring issue. Kiko Femenia was also absent for the game against United because of an injury, but he is likely to return against Arsenal.

Moreover, Peter Etebo and Nicolas Nkoulou are working their way back from injuries. After an outstanding showing at Old Trafford, Joao Pedro or Ken Sema will be competing for Sarr’s position in the forward line, but Hodgson is unlikely to make any changes to the lineup.

Watford possible starting lineup

Ben Foster; Jeremy Ngakia, Craig Cathcart, Samir, Hassane Kamara; Tom Cleverley, Moussa Sissoko, Imran Louza; Joao Pedro, Emmanuel Dennis, Joshua King

Arsenal vs Watford: The Gunners team news

Smith Rowe, Arsenal’s leading scorer, missed the Wolves victory due to illness. However, the 21-year-old was pictured while training and should be fit to play on Sunday. Takehiro Tomiyasu’s injury-prone calves should be Arteta’s sole injury issue, but Cedric Soares will be taking Tomiyasu’s place in the lineup because of impressive performances in recent games.

After making an impact off the bench against Wolves, Eddie Nketiah and Pepe may be considered for starts by Arteta. However, it will be difficult to bench Lacazette or Martinelli though the Brazilian could be replaced by Emile-Smith Rowe.

Arsenal possible starting lineup

Aaron Ramsdale; Cedric Soares, Ben White, Gabriel Magalhaes, Kiernan Tierney; Granit Xhaka, Thomas Partey; Bukayo Saka, Martin Odegaard, Emile-Smith Rowe; Alexandre Lacazette

Our Predictions

Watford 1-3 Arsenal

Watford have lost 2 consecutive games at home recently. They are lacking a clinical finisher in their matches since Roy Hodgson took over. Moreover, they will be facing a tough Arsenal side who might strengthen their position to secure a Champions League spot. Arsenal are capable of conceding a goal after an individual mistake and Watford can make use of it.
