Nurul Hasan Sohan, the Bangladesh T-20I captain accepted that they need to improve their T-20 approach. The realization came after the Tigers lost the Zimbabwe series by 1-2. Led by Craig Ervine, Zimbabwe managed to win against the tigers by 10 runs. However the target Zimbabwe gave was just 157!
Ahead of the Asia Cup 2022, the tigers may be a step back, as they lost two consecutive series against Zimbabwe. Its nothing new now, that Asia Cup will be held in the T-20I format.
On Tuesday, August 30th, Bangladesh will play their first match of the Asia Cup 2022. They will face Afghanistan at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium.
If we give our 100 percent and make some improvements in the areas of deficiency: Nurul Hasan Sohan
However, Sohan believes that the defeat against Zimbabwe won’t affect their mind sets. They will pour their heart out in every matches. Sohan said,
“We have a lot of room for improvement in T20s. Sri Lanka and Afghanistan are both very good opponents. Even if we give our 100 percent and make some improvements in the areas of deficiency, the results will be good.”
He further clarified,
“We need to focus on the areas of improvement so that we can do well in the Asia Cup and the World Cup. There is still some time for the Asia Cup. A different tournament. I don’t think it will have any effect.”
Sohan gave his finger injury update too. He informed that he will be fit enough to be back in three weeks.
“I hope to recover before the Asia Cup. There is an appointment (with the doctor) tomorrow. It depends on it. Hopefully, I will recover in 3 weeks. There is a fracture, the bone is slightly displaced. I am a little better today than yesterday.”
