Wesley Fofana could return to the Chelsea team training by next week

Wesley Fofana

The date for the return of Wesley Fofana is all set. Reports claim that Wesley Fofana is all set to return by next week after his injury. Journalist Nathan Gissing claims that the player is just over a week from returning to Chelsea‘s first-team training. The player had his first season with Chelsea ruined by an unfortunate injury. This is a similar situation to which his Leicester City career came to an end. Things looked really good for Wesley Fofana after his first match for the Blues under Graham Potter. He even scored an opener against AC Milan in the Champions League group stage match. However, his brilliant display of the game was over by halftime. He had to be forced off the pitch due to what looked like a serious knee injury. He is yet to feature in any of Chelsea’s games since his unfortunate injury.

Wesley Fofana could return to Chelsea’s first-team training soon

Wesley Fofana have been one of the many players who have suffered an injury this season. Graham Potter was unable to use the player any further this season due to his injury. This has been a reason for Chelsea’s serious drop in form this season. Reece James, Ben Chilwell, and N’golo Kante have all suffered a long-term injuries this season. The trio were some of the most important players in the team. The wing-back pair have reportedly returned for training ahead of their weekend match against Liverpool. Therefore the news of Fofana returning to team training would be positive news for the Blues. The journalist commented,

“Wesley Fofana injury update: Fofana is expected to return to full training with Chelsea in around 10 days.”

Kalidou Koulibaly failed to impress at Stamford Bridge in the majority of games that he played in. Wesley Fofana will be looked at as a much-needed alternative for the player in defense. The centre-back would be more than welcomed by the Blues fans. Benoit Badiashile have also impressed the Blues on his debut against Crystal Palace. Both Fofana and Benoit Badiashile could be a treat for the Blues fans.
