Crystal Palace star man Wilfried Zaha is in demand this summer. The 30 year old has been a key figure for Palace since his arrival back in 2014. His best season with the club was the 2021/22 season where he scored 14 goals in the Premier League. Although the last season wasn’t the best ones for Zaha as he only scored 7 goals in the league, but it’s still decent.
The primary reason why a lot of clubs have shown interest in Wilfried is because of the amazing qualities he possesses as a winger. He is a great dribbler, balanced agile, therefore is very difficult to defend against him. His stellar pace makes him unstoppable during counter attacks. The composure that he usually has while being inside the box is what makes him quite consistent in front of the goal.
Which clubs are looking to sign Zaha this summer?
The initial transfer rumors that came up were of the interest from Saudi Arabia. According to Sky Sports, Saudi Arabian club Al Nassr has offered a three-year deal to Zaha which is worth upto $56m. Nassr is looking to further strengthen its attack by adding star players alongside the iconic Cristiano Ronaldo.
Along with the interest from Nassr, recently it was reported that the French giants PSG are also planning to sign Zaha. It is understood that after Lionel Messi, Neymar Jr. might also be leaving PSG this summer. Therefore, Zaha has emerged as an option for the club to replace their departing attackers.
They have already completed the signing of Marco Asensio to replace Messi. And now they are looking to bring in Zaha to replace Neymar, in case he leaves.
Apart from Nassr and PSG, Newcastle United are also one of the teams who have shown an early interest in Zaha. The Magpies are expected to make some major signings this summer.
However, despite the interest, it seems unlikely that Newcastle will go for Zaha. They already have a great set of players who led the club to a UCL finish last season. Joelinton and Isak were incredible on the left wing for Newcastle. It is expected that Eddie Howe is not going to make any changes here.
Where will Zaha play next season?
It was reported recently that Zaha is expected to rule out a move to Saudi. He is willing to stay in Europe it has been revealed. Even though a move to Newcastle would be a comfortable one for him as they’re in the same league as him but it seems unlikely to happen. A move to PSG looks like the most likely one to happen as PSG are in need of attackers. The talks are in the initial phase right now, so it is still unpredictable.
Despite the interests, there is a great possibility that Zaha might stay put. It looks like Palace wouldn’t want to let go of their star man. Therefore there is a big chance that Crystal Palace might be to looking to sell Zaha and he might be seen playing at Palace again in the next season.
