Journalist David Ornstein have revealed that William Saliba is yet to extend his contract with Arsenal. The journalist disclosed that there have been no agreement between William Saliba and Arsenal yet. The player have been a force to be reckoned with at the backline. He has helped the Arsenal team immensely to reach at the top of the table. However, he is yet to commit his future to the Gunners. His contract with Arsenal ends in the summer of 2024. Arsenal have the option of extending his contract by one year. Although William Saliba joined Arsenal back in 2019, he had to wait for his turn in the team. Furthermore, the young player was sent on multiple loan spells before he made a place in the team. All those loan spells have now proved to be beneficial. His loan spell at Marseille in particular was the most successful one.
William Saliba has not agreed to extend his contract with Arsenal yet
Journalist Ornstein claims that while there is no agreement yet, the fans should not panic. There is a possibility that Saliba could extend his contract. William Saliba have expressed his happiness at the club time and time again. He have finally received the play-time at Arsenal that he always desired. Ornstein claimed,
“On William Saliba, as I understand it, there is no agreement close as things stand, but that could change.”
He further went on,
“He has spoken very positively about wanting to stay at Arsenal. So it will all be about trying to strike a deal between himself, his representatives, and of course Arsenal.”
The young player have grown a lot as a player. It could be seen through his remarkable composure at the backline. He have formed a very good partnership with Gabriel Magalhaes at the back. The duo have started every league game together.
William Saliba has now become one of the important players in Arteta’s squad. Saliba’s return to the Arsenal team have played a huge part in Arsenal’s success this season. He has been one of the breakthrough players in the league this season.
