Football Pundit, Ian Wright states that Arteta’s side will be more than ready to face Manchester City, regardless of Haaland playing or not.
Arsenal’s title-winning run have been road blocked this weekend, as Brentford held them to a controversial draw whereas Manchester City won against Aston Villa on this Sunday. There are only 3 points between both clubs but City have played an extra game. Both teams will lock horns for the first time this season on Wednesday.
Due to the goal difference, Pep Guardiola‘s side will reach the top of the Premier League table if they win against Arsenal at Emirates.
However, news have emerged that Norwegian Striker Erling Haaland might miss the next match against the Gunners due to a thigh injury. He was substituted off after the first half against Aston Villa.
During Post-Match Interview, Guardiola stated that he is unsure of the fact whether Haaland would be available for playing against Arsenal. He further stated:-
“Right now I don’t know. We will have to see over the next few days”.
“He got a knock and was uncomfortable so at 3-0 up we didn’t want to take the risk. We will assess him and if he’s not ready we will play someone else. Hopefully he is ready.”
IAN WRIGHT HAS CONFIDENCE IN ARTETA’S SIDE
Even if Haaland is fit to play, Ian Wright stated that his former club will emerge victorious over the Citizens. He further claimed:-
“We’ve seen what City are capable of without Haaland. It’s a game that Arsenal need to win, they need to win their home games and City are coming there now knowing if they win that game they’ll go top”.
“Pep’s talking about it’s still early but they know this terrain, they know what they need to be doing. But I think Arsenal will be ready for them.”
“Arsenal will be looking forward to this game. It was unfortunate against Brentford how that turned out but I think the point is good enough. This is the kind of game to get yourself going again”.
Also, Wright’s Fellow Expert Jermaine Jenas claimed that City might return to a back-four formation against the Gunners. He further stated:-
“As beautiful as it was today, they can’t play three against Arsenal. Not with [Gabriel] Martinelli and [Bukayo] Saka and what they can do.
“It will be a more conventional four with maybe Nathan Ake at left-back to sure things up on that side.”
This is the most important match for both clubs, as it might decide Premier League’s Title Fate for this season
