The 20-year-old defender came up through the academy ranks at Chelsea. Colwell is currently enjoying his loan spell at Premier League rivals Brighton. He was also loaned out to Huddersfield Town in the Championship last year.

Colwell is putting on some incredible performances at Brighton. Alan Shearer praised the youngster in January for his performance against Liverpool. He said:-

“Didn’t put a foot wrong and barely gave Liverpool’s attackers a sniff.”

And now, Daily Mail claims that Colwell could get his first senior-team call-up for England in 2023. Gareth Southgate acknowledges his quality and skills as he could refresh his centre-defensive options in the squad.

However, Colwell is currently part of the England U-21 camp during the current International break. Hopefully, it will be the last one before joining the senior team. He is getting admiration from both Southgate and assistant coach Steve Holland.

There are lots of speculation around the 20-year-old in recent times. The youngster’s eye-catching display at the back-line is the talk of the town.

LIVERPOOL ARE INTERESTED IN SIGNING COLWELL

According to Goal, Liverpool are interested in signing in Levi Colwell in the summer transfer window.

The reports explain that Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp likes Colwell as a player, but the rivalry with Chelsea could cause stand in the way of any transfer to Anfield. However, speculation suggests that the centre-back may have an important future at Stanford Bridge next season.

Chelsea manager Graham Potter has the youngster in his first-team plans for next season. Potter believes in his quality and might be offered a new contract.

Colwell’s biggest challenge will be dealing with all the pressure on him. He looks extremely calm and accomplished on the football pitch, but there is a lot of expectation on his young shoulders.
