Youri Tielemans might join Arsenal as personal terms have already been agreed upon between them. Arsenal are currently looking to strengthen their squad this January transfer window. Belgium international Youri Tielemans could be one such player to join Arsenal this transfer window. Furthermore, Arsenal have been interested in the player for quite some time now. Youri Tielemans have been a star player for Leicester City since joining them in 2019. His contract expires with the Foxes by the end of this season. Leicester City have been unable to make him sign another contract with them. Mikel Arteta is looking to bolster up the midfield area of the squad. The Belgium player would be a good addition to the squad.
Youri Tielemans might join Arsenal after his contract expires
The Foxes might sell Youri Tielemans if a decent transfer offer amount is submitted to them. While talking on Twitter CBS Sports reporter Ben Jacobs explained,
“Arsenal very much appreciate Tielemans. A move still can’t be ruled out. And Tielemans remains sold on a move should they proceed. Long-standing personal terms are in place.”
However, when asked about the situation, Leicester City manager Rodgers denied the rumors of the player wanting to leave the club. Brendon Rodgers claimed that the player is happy to be at the club. He said,
“I haven’t spoken to him (Tielemans) since he came back (from the World Cup). It’s something between him and the club. My focus is on the player. He loves being here, but it’s a big contract for him, so he will be taking his time over what he wants to do. He’s a joy to work with.”
“We’ve a couple of areas we would like to improve and we hope to do that. There’s been plenty of work behind the scenes. Hopefully, we can improve the depth. It’s clear we’ve lost a number of our full-backs.”
He further added,
“So, we’ll look at the left-back position and also for an out-and-out winger on the right side is one we will definitely look at. It was a challenging summer for us. Come January, we’ve looked at that and we hope to be able to spend wisely.”
Whether the transfer is free or for a price, Arteta will be looking forward to signing the player. Youri Tielemans could become to be one of the best midfielders in the Premier League. Moreover, Youri Tielemans is still young and can go ahead and become a better version of himself.
