Arsenal have expressed their interest in signing Belgian midfielder Youri Tielemans this summer. However, thy have yet to make a formal bid for the Leicester man this summer. Arsenal are having a great transfer window this summer. They have acquired five players on a budget of just over £100 million. Five quality players for £100 million is a pretty good deal in today’s transfer market.
Recently, the Gunners have acquired the services of Oleksandr Zinchenko who will play mostly as a midfielder in the squad. Gunners, the quest Tielemans is a great option to pursue this summer for the Gunners to increase their depth in the midfield. Personal terms are also no obstacle as Tielemans is interested in joining Arsenal. Tielemans is one of the most consistent layers of the Premier League. Arsenal could do well by signing him. Tielemans’ top priority is joining Arsenal
In his Que Golazo Podcast, Fabrizio Romano has said that Tielemans would love a move to the Emirates. Romano said:
“Arsenal is his priority. I would say it’s a clear choice because the player would love to move, he would love to join Arsenal. However, it’s up to Arsenal to submit a proposal & go strong for him. He’s waiting for Arsenal since April.”
Tielemans’ acquisition by Arsenal will add a lot of depth to their midfield. He is a versatile and creative player. He can operate in different positions of the midfield, create chances and provide great crosses. Moreover, he has the creative presence and cheekiness that the Gunners have lacked in their ranks for a long time. However, to sign Tielemans and other prospective targets, the Gunners will have to offload a few players first.
Manchester United are also interested in signing Youri Tielemans this season. However, they have already signed Christian Eriksen this season. Moreover, they are also pursuing Frenkie De Jong heavily this summer. If the deal for De Jong fails, Tielemans could be a great backup option. He is a Premier League-proven player. Moreover, he also has experience playing at the European level as well.
