With his sparkling performances, Brighton midfielder Yves Bissouma has drawn interest from the Premier League giants. Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester United will battle it out in January for the 25-year-old’s signature.

Rumours started to fly that the Brighton man was to depart the Amex this summer. Tottenham Hotspur, amid interest from the trio mentioned above, were also in the race to attempt a surprise swoop.

However, Graham Potter’s side succeeded in holding on to their man for the 2021-22 season. However, the Mali international’s deal is now due to run out in under 2 years’ time.

Brighton have received no official bids for the 25-year-old over the summer. Nonetheless, interest could be ‘reignited‘ in January. He has stated that he is happy on the South Coast after spending three years there.

Yves Bissouma joined Brighton from Lille in 2018. Since then, he has gone on to record 99 appearances for the Seagulls. He has played every minute of their current Premier League campaign to date, registering an assist in a 2-0 win over Watford.

Potential suitors Arsenal have already done business with Brighton earlier this summer. The Gunners long coveted their center-half Ben White before finally caving in and paying his quoted £50,000,000 valuation.

Yves Bissouma – Brighton’s rock in midfield

The Malian, valued around £40,000,000, has impressed since his arrival. The defensive midfielder has racked up modest goal contribution numbers – 4 goals, 2 assists.

Last campaign proved to be a breakout season for the 25-year-old. He went on to produce more tackles and interceptions than any other player (174) while missing just two games due to suspension.

Given his playstyle, Bissouma was compared to N’Golo Kante. At times he has even outperformed the Champions League winner in key metrics last term, including tackles, interceptions and clearances.
