As per reports, Zinedine Zidane is not actively pushing for the managerial role at Manchester United. The Frenchman is not intent on becoming the new coach at Old Trafford.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is under a lot of criticism regarding Man Utd’s current form. Having secured just 1-point in their last 3 league games, the club is in speculations of hiring a new manager.

Amidst the dreadful results, high profile coaches, Zidane and Antonio Conte are the first choices. Former Chelsea manager, Conte seems to have full confidence believing that he could win the Champions League at the club.

Zidane perfect choice to fit in United’s counterattacking system

At Real Madrid, Zidane was a huge success having won two La Liga and three Champions League titles. The Frenchman developed a tremendous counterattacking style of play at the club, with a forward line of Cristiano Ronaldo, Gareth Bale and Karim Benzema.

Meanwhile, Man Utd has adopted a similar system. Utd often catch the opposition off guard with a burst of counterattack paired with pacey striker Marcus Rashford. However, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer lacks consistency and proper end product in this style of play.

Ronaldo’s recommendations were enough for the Red Devils to open talks with the 49-yrs-old French manager. With a similar set up and mentality, Zidane could put the final piece to the puzzle and solve Man Utd’s problems.

While Antonio Conte is eager and waiting to take up the manager role, Zidane on the other hand is not actively pushing. According to Marca, the manager is currently enjoying his time away from the spotlight and is not looking to return to a coaching position at this moment in time.

However, Zidane has not ruled out the possibility of joining the Red Devils in case the position clears.

The French manager, could once again link up with his former players, Ronaldo and Raphael Varane. The duo may also prove to be of key importance if Man Utd finally decide to get in Zizou.
