West Ham are close to reaching an agreement with Chelsea for Armando Broja

According to a report in the Athletic, Armando Broja is close to becoming a player for West Ham United this season. Personal terms between Broja and West Ham have already been agreed upon. This bid away from Chelsea is being pushed by Broja and his desire for regular starts in first-team matches. He has had a stellar season with Southampton in his loan season. He scored 9 goals from 28 games this season for Southampton.

According to the report, West Ham are willing to pay £25million upfront. £ 5 million will be paid in add-ons and bonuses. Currently, Broja is on the move with Chelsea in their pre-season tour. However, West Ham are now pushing for him to join the Hammers at the London Stadium. Negotiations between the clubs are in full swing and are at the advanced stage. David Moyes is a big fan of the Albanian striker as well.

Buyback clause in the contract

Fabrizio Romano has confirmed that West Ham are in pursuit of Armando Broja. The latest offer is worth £30 million in total. West Ham are now just awaiting an answer from Chelsea over a fee. Broja is an extremely exciting prospect for the Blues. The player has heavily impressed Thomas Tuchel in the pre-season. Thomas Tuchel also declared that Broja was not for sale this summer.

However, the arrival of new signings and the already existing quality in forwards means that Broja will struggle for minutes. This has led to him pushing for a move away from Stamford Bridge. His move to West Ham at least guarantees a place in the starting XI under David Moyes.

Chelsea will be losing a future star by letting Broja go. They are aware of this as well. It is because of his quality and potential is why Chelsea want to include a buyback clause in the contract. Chelsea have signed Raheem Sterling and Kalidou Koulibaly as reinforcements to the squad. Moreover, Connor Gallagher and Ethan Ampadu have also returned from successful loan spells as well.
