Arsenal agree a deal for Manchester City’s Gabriel Jesus.

Arsenal have reportedly reached an agreement with Manchester City to sign forward Gabriel Jesus for £45m this summer. Jesus was Arsenal’s top target for the summer.

The 25-year-old has heavily linked with a move to Emirates stadium. Mikel Arteta identified the Brazil international as his primary target to replace Alexandre Lacazette. London rivals Chelsea and Tottenham were credited with an interest .

However, according to reports, Arsenal are now one step closer to recruiting Gabriel Jesus this summer. All the reports add that Gunners have agreed a £45m fee with Man City. Although, personal terms and organisation of a medical are yet to be finalised. Another report says, Gabriel Jesus could earn in the region £220,000 per week if he agrees to switch to Arsenal .

THE JESUS TRANSFER SAGA IS FINALLY OVER

For some time, Jesus has seemingly been the most likely candidate to leave Etihad. This is due to arrivals of Julian Alvarez and Erling Haaland and also the fact his contract is due to expire in 2023. This raised question marks over his long-term future at the club. Gabriel Jesus will become the third signing of the summer transfer window for Arsenal .

Arsenal are also allegedly trying to make Leeds United’s Raphinha their fourth signing. The Gunners are going to make an improved offer for the winger after their first bid was rejected by Leeds. While Jesus is closing on a move to Arsenal , Man City will use his money to spend on Leeds United midfielder Kalvin Philips.

Jesus in his time at City has scored 95 goals and provided 46 assists in 236 appearences for the Citizens. Now, Arsenal will be hoping the Brazilian foreward helps them qualify for the Champions League and compete till deep in every competition. However, the big reason Arsenal have brought him is they want to win the Europa League to automatically qualify for Champions League.
