Arsenal are reportedly hoping to sign multiple midfielders in the next summer transfer. The Gunners also tried to sign them in the January transfer window.

However, they failed in their approach to convince the player to move mid-season. Although, there were also players that wanted to stay with their existing clubs for the rest of the season.

ARSENAL ARE SCOUTING YOUNG TALENTED MIDFIELDERS OUTSIDE THE PREMIER LEAGUE

According to Athletic, Arsenal are monitoring the situation of a number of midfielders for the next summer transfer window. The report also indicates that the midfielder are very young. They are also from outside of the Premier League. The report also claims that the Gunners tried to approach them in the January transfer window. However, they could not agree a fee or they were not convinced with the move. However, there is a belief that these midfielders will be open to the move in the next summer transfer window.

At the moment, Arsenal are monitoring the situation of Martin Zubimendi and Edson Alvarez. The Gunners also tried to make contact with the agents. However, the move could not materialise for different reason. The reason of Edson Alvarez is Ajax had made it clear that they were not going to sell him this season. However, a race for his signature will certainly happen in the next summer transfer window. Whereas, the Gunners had no problem paying the 60 million release clause for Zubimendi in January. However, the midfielder has said that he will make his decision on his future in the next summer transfer window. Hence, he will stay with Real Sociedad till the end of this season.

THE GUNNERS ARE ALSO KEEPING AN EYE ON MOISES CAICEDO AND DECLAN RICE

According to reports, Arsenal are also keeping a close eye on the Moises Caicedo and Declan Rice. They even tried to sign Moises Caicedo in the January transfer window. However, Brighton refused to sell their star midfielder on the deadline day. The report also claims that the Gunners will face the intense competition of Chelsea for both the midfielders. It also claims that both the Premier League giants have laid the necessary groundwork to complete both the deals.

However, the important points for Arsenal and Chelsea is to come to agreement for the transfer fee. Another point is they also need to manage their Financial Fair Play area. It is because both the clubs especially Chelsea have spent a huge money in both the transfer windows of this seasons. Hence, both of the sides will also have to sell some fringe players to balance the books for next season. It is also clear that both the deals will cost the clubs 80-100 million each.

Hence, Arsenal and Chelsea have to make sure that they do not overpay for their transfer target. This is because overpaying will limit their spending for the rest of the next summer transfer window. Hence, it looks the focus will be to finish strongly on the pitch this season. This strong finish will also help them increase their transfer budget and attract more star players to their clubs.
