Arsenal are reportedly interested in signing Isco on a free transfer in the January transfer window

Arsenal are reportedly showing interest in signing Isco on a free transfer in the January transfer window. Sevilla have just announced the termination of his contract.

Hence, the Spanish midfielder is currently available as a free agent in January. The report also claims that a number of clubs and England are also competing for the transfer.

According to reports, Arsenal are showing interest in signing free agent Isco in the January transfer window. The report also claims that Mikel Arteta likes the player. Hence, Arteta thinks he can make him into a brilliant player. However, the Gunners have not made a contract proposal for the Spanish midfielder. The report also claims that the Premier League giants tried to sign him in the summer transfer window. However, Isco rejected all approaches and signed for Sevilla.

Although, it looks like Arsenal have got another chance to sign Isco. The Gunners need a new midfielder signing in January. This is because Albert Sambi Lokonga is looking to leave the club. Hence, Mikel Arteta will need to sign a midfielder for competition and squad depth. Therefore, Isco looks like a good short-term option for the Gunners. However, they are going to face the competition from a number of Premier League clubs and La Liga clubs.

According to reports, Sevilla were not happy with the performance of Isco. He has only scored 1 goal and provided three assists in his 19 appearances. Another problem reportedly is he and Sevilla sporting director Monchi are not on speaking terms. Hence, it clearly indicates that a mutual contract termination was going to come for Isco. However, it looks like Arsenal and other interested sides do not fear the reports. At the moment, a number of clubs from the Premier League and La Liga are showing interest.

The report claims that Tottenham and Wolves are also showing interest in Isco. Tottenham‘s head coach reportedly wants to sign Isco and loan out Pape Matar Sarr. Whereas, Wolves also see him as a potential star signing to help them in their relegation. They are currently managed by former Sevilla manager Julen Lopetegui. A number of La Liga clubs like Real Betis, Valencia, Rayo Vallecano and Villareal are also showing interest. Hence, the final decision has to be made soon by Isco and his agent.

Arsenal will hope that they can win the race for Isco in the January transfer window. However, this transfer is also different from their current transfer strategy. The Gunners are focusing on signing young players. However, Isco is 30. Although, it looks like the owners are ready to back Mikel Arteta for the title challenge.
