ARSENAL AND WILLIAM CARVALHO TRANSFER LINKS FULL STORY

According to reports, Arsenal are showing interest in signing William Carvalho. The midfielder plays for Real Betis. He was also linked with a move away in the summer transfer window. However, he ended up staying at Real Betis. Although, a January transfer exit cannot be ruled out. The report also claims that the La Liga side are open to selling him for the right price.

This is because Real Betis are having financial issues. Hence, selling one of their highest-paid players can help balance the books of the La Liga giants. The report also claims that they value Carvalho at 22 million. Hence, Mikel Arteta will surely like to explore the transfer. However, it will not be easy negotiations. The report also claims that Newcastle United are also exploring the possibility of signing the Portuguese midfielder.

THE GUNNERS HAVE TO MAKE A MIDFIELDER SIGNING IN JANUARY

Arsenal decided to play a second-string side in their loss against Brighton in the Carabao Cup. The one thing that everyone noticed is that the Gunners have lacked squad depth this season. It is most showing in the midfield department. This is because Albert-Sambi Lokonga is unable to settle into the team under the management of Mikel Arteta.

Hence, they need to sign a complete midfielder that helps offensively and defensively. This is because they get exposed without the services of Thomas Partey and Granit Xhaka. Hence, they need a backup replacement signed to replace them in case of their bad form or an injury. Arsenal are also linked with the likes of Jesper Lindstrom and Douglas Luiz for the January transfer window.

Hence, it will be interesting to see whether William Carvalho is up on the list. Another problem is that the Real Betis midfielder is 30 years of age. Hence, he will soon end up on the wrong side of his 30s. Hence, this clearly indicates that he will be the short-term replacement signing for the Gunners.
