Arsenal goalkeeper Matt Turner has revealed what manager Mikel Arteta told him after he made a mistake in the training sessions.
The answer of the goalkeeper gives an indication of the positive approach of the midfielder. Hence, the Gunners are at the top of the Premier League table currently.

Arsenal goalkeeper Matt Turner has revealed the reaction of Mikel Arteta when he made a mistake in the training sessions. The goalkeeper was signed by the club in the January transfer window. However, he joined his new teammates in the summer transfer window from MLS club New England Revolution. Once, Turner arrived Bernd Leno left the club for Fulham. Bernd Leno is the starting goalkeeper for Fulham.
However, Matt Turner is the backup keeper for Arsenal behind Aaron Ramsdale. He credits Mikel Arteta for helping him train effectively. He said,
” We were playing a small possession game and it was really, really tight.“I tried to make a pass and I gave the ball away. I sort of visually got frustrated and upset and he (Arteta) just came up to me and shoved me. He was basically like: ‘I don’t want to see that. I don’t like seeing that reaction. I want to see you pick yourself up and keep going.’

The reaction clearly indicates that Mikel Arteta is having a positive impact on the team. Matt Turner also said,
“I think that really set the tone for my mentality within the club and just to keep going no matter what. If you fail, that’s alright. What matters is how you react and not about the failure in itself. That was a really nice moment.”
This was also the reaction of Arsenal after losing to Manchester United. Manchester United was their first loss in the Premier League this season.
However, they managed to bounce back with a win against FC Zurich in the Europa League. They also managed to defeat Brentford convincingly with a 3-0 win. This clearly indicates the competitive tone in the Arsenal dressing room. It looks like Mikel Arteta’s tactics are finally showing their effects in the dressing room of Arsenal after a number of years.
Matt Turner got a big transfer from MLS to one of the biggest Premier League sides in the form of Arsenal. However, he has not at all been intimidated by the transfer. He has trained well and did not put a foot wrong in the Europa League game against FC Zurich.
