Arsenal have proved that they are the powerhouses in the Premier League this season. This is after the brilliant 2-0 derby win against rivals Tottenham Hotspur.
Hence, this means that the Gunners are eight points clear of second-placed Manchester City. The Gunners are also not showing any signs of slowing down in the second half of the season.
ARSENAL ARE NOT SHOWING ANY SECOND HALF OF THE SEASON SYNDROME
Arsenal are starting to prove that they are the powerhouses in the Premier League this season. This is after their 2-0 win against bitter rivals Tottenham Hotspur. The own goal from Hugo Lloris and a goal from Martin Odegaard made sure that the Gunners continued their eight-point lead over second-placed Manchester City. It also shows that the Gunners are not showing any second-half syndromes they have shown in the past seasons.
Hence, it is looking like Arsenal will certainly qualify for the Champions League this season. However, game by game, it is looking like the Premier League trophy is the main target for them this season. However, Mikel Arteta said that he is focusing on their next game against Manchester United. He further said,
“I don’t want to do too many calculations. It’s how we are going to prepare for the game against Man United now, to get another three points and play well and deserve to win.”
THE GUNNERS ALSO PROVED THEY ARE BEST TO TOTTENHAM MANAGER ANTONIO CONTE
Tottenham manager Antonio Conte had said in the pre-match conference that Arsenal need to win against them to prove that they are genuine title challengers. He further said,
“For sure, Arsenal has to face the situation of being favourites because they are top of the table. They have to show they are good enough to face this situation.”
“They have a great opportunity, working for many years in a project. Arsenal have sent a lot of players out, they brought a lot of players in and they spend money to do it and they are doing well.
Hence, it looks like Arsenal proved that they are the best team in the league currently by winning the game. They also dominated the game by scoring two first-half goals. Hence, they won the game in the first half itself. Mikel Arteta will hope that they win in their home game against in-form Manchester United. Former Manchester United player and current pundit Gary Neville has also added fuel to the fire before the game. He has said that Arsenal will finish third in the Premier League table at the end of the season. Whereas, Manchester United will finish second.
Hence, the field is set for the match of Arsenal against Manchester United. Both teams will also have an eye on the form of high-flying Newcastle United. The Magpies won 1-0 against Fulham yesterday to stay third in the league. However, they have played one game more than all of the remaining top three.
