Manchester United legend Gary Neville is not happy with the rumored salary cap introduction. He has also said that the salary cap will prevent the club from signing top players.
The report claims that the Red Devils will not pay a player over 200,000 pounds per week. Hence, a number of players that are on high wages will have to take reductions to continue their careers at Old Trafford.
MANCHESTER UNITED RUMOURED SALARY CAP INTRODUCTION
According to reports, Manchester United hierarchy have introduced a salary cap in the January transfer window. The report also claims that they will not pay more than 200,000 pounds per week to their existing or new signings. This is done to avoid jealousy in the dressing room. The report also claims that Erik Ten Hag also supports the policy. At the moment, the highest earner at Old Trafford is goalkeeper David De Gea. However, he is also expected to take a big pay cut to sign a new contract.
Manchester United No 1 goalkeeper has also said that positive discussions are happening. He further said,
“Yeah, I’m very relaxed,”. “Just focus on training, perform as best as I can. But, for sure, it’s going to end in a good way. “When asked if he was confident of seeing out his career at United, De Gea replied: “I hope so. GARY NEVILLE IS NOT HAPPY WITH THE DECISION OF THE HIERARCHY
It looks like Manchester United legend Gary Neville is not happy with the rumored salary cap. He has also said that the salary cap will limit the club’s progress. The United legend says that the salary cap policy will rule out big signings like Jude Bellingham, Declan Rice, and other top players. Hence, this will also hurt the ambition of the club to qualify for the Champions League every season. However, a number of fans on social media have also said that the club has taken the right decision.
However, Gary Neville also made the point that Manchester United have 3 or 4 players including Casemiro above the rumored salary. The contracts of these players also end in the next 3 to 4 years. Hence, Gary Neville has described the policy as strange. A number of fans supporting his comments said that Manchester City will just offer 50,000 pounds more than the 200,000 pounds to steal their signings. Hence, the policy will certainly affect their present and the future.
However, this also means Manchester United and Erik Ten Hag are looking to end all the awkwardness in the dressing room for years. They are currently in negotiations to sign Wout Weghorst.
