ARSENAL

Arsenal is now interested in signing a 21-year-old midfielder who tackles more than William Saliba.

Martinelli

It appears that Arsenal wants to add a midfield player during the January transfer window. They are showing interest in Pablo Maia, according to a report.

Joao Palhinha and Douglas Luiz have recently been associated with the Gunners, but there are issues on both fronts. While Luiz may prove unachievable given Aston Villa’s rise to the top and his exorbitant price tag. Arsenal believes Palhinha is a little too old.

They must now turn their attention elsewhere, and Football Transfers reports that they are considering another Brazilian midfielder, Pablo Maia.

The Brazilian market is becoming more and more tempting to British clubs after Brexit, and Arsenal is among the teams leading the charge in this endeavor.

Arsenal has a distinct advantage over other teams when it comes to pursuing Brazilian talents. Because they have Edu as Sporting Director. Gabriel Martinelli was one of the best purchases the Gunners made in recent memory .

Pablo Maia: arsenal s new target

What kind of player then is Maia? He’s a holding midfielder who plays with a lot of intensity. As you might expect from someone who is a Douglas Luiz/Palhinha substitute.

Right now, the 21-year-old averages two tackles per game; although that may not seem like much, Maia out-takes players like William Saliba and Takehiro Tomiyasu, one of just three players in the Arsenal team who averages more.

Additionally, Maia has previously been connected to a move to England.

Ironically, last year, West Ham was rumored to be interested in the Brazilian as a Declan Rice replacement. It’s exciting to hear that they thought he would make a good Rice substitute.

This young player Maia, who is only 21 years old, has a lot of potential to develop, and it would be an excellent addition to Arsenal.

It remains to see whether Arsenal pushes to close this deal, but Maia seems like he might make an intriguing addition to this Arsenal team.
