Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has praised the ability of their striker Eddie Nketiah after the injury to Gabriel Jesus. He also believes that Nketiah can help win games through his goals.

However, he has also asked the fans to be patient with his ability. Mikel Arteta has already shown his patience with Nketiah after giving a long-term contract extension.

Arsenal have just announced that Gabriel Jesus has undergone a successful surgery for his knee injury. He suffered an injury during the World Cup in Qatar. Hence, the Gunners will get some sort of compensation for his treatment. However, they are likely going to miss his services for a number of months. A report also claims that he is expected to recover by the end of January. Hence, the Brazilian striker is going to miss the busy January schedule.

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has also said that Gabriel Jesus is going to be a big miss. He further said,

“It’s a huge blow for us, obviously. He’s such an important player. “He’s brought something very different to the team and it’s impossible to replace him.”

“But we have other players, other alternatives and we’ll try to get that sorted. The transfer window is another option.

It is clear that Arteta will search for potential options in the January transfer window. However, he has also praised the ability of young Eddie Nketiah.

The Arsenal manager Arteta has said that Eddie Nketiah is a brilliant option. Hence, the impact of Gabriel Jesus can be less if Nketiah starts scoring goals. He further said,

“I think [Jesus] is a unique player but Eddie [Nketiah] has incredible qualities as well for the way we want to play.”

Hence, it is clear that Mikel Arteta has Eddie Nketiah in his long-term plans. He has already shown his trust in the young England striker before the start of the season. The Gunners kept him at the club on a long-term contract extension.

At the moment Mykhaylo Mudryk and a midfielder are the priority for the January transfer window. Hence, there is a chance that Mikel Arteta spends the whole budget on these two players. Therefore, he will have Eddie Nketiah as the only recognized striker. However, Arsenal can play Gabriel Martinelli as a striker. There is also a chance that potential new signing Mykhaylo Mudryk will play as a striker. Therefore, Mikel Arteta will have decisions to make in January.

Hence, it is clear that the Arsenal manager is currently confused between Eddie Nketiah and the new potential striker signing. However, it is clear that Mikel Arteta trusts the ability of the England striker. A number of Gunners fans are also saying on social media that Eddie Nketiah deserves the chance to start games. However, a number of pundits are telling that the Gunners should sign a new striker.
