We bring you the latest Arsenal news which is making the rounds of the Emirates. Arsenal are entering the final stretch of fixtures in their quest to finish in the top four. However, injuries to crucial players have left Mikel Arteta in a fix. Moreover, the injuries had great impact on Arsenal’s last game as they lost to Crystal Palace. First choice left-back Keiran Tierney is out for the season after sustaining a knee injury. In such situation Bukayo Saka could be back to square one.

Meanwhile, in other news Arsenal manager Arteta’s expectations from the new striker are revealed. The gunners are set to sign a quality striker in the summer to end their number-9 woes. Alexandre Lacazette and Eddie Nketiah could leave in the summer, and Arteta wants to freshen up the things in the attack. Furthermore, a lot of names are being linked with the gunners.

Arsenal News: Saka set for tactical switch

Keiran Tierney will undergo a surgery on his knee and is set to miss the rest of the season. The left-back missed the trip to Crystal Palace and Nuno Tavares was called upon. Tavares was heavily at fault as the Gunners lost 3-0 to Palace. Arsenal can only ill-afford to start Tavares at the left-back for the remaining fixtures. Arteta played Granit Xhaka at the left-back in the second half against Palace. But there was still no relief. As a result, Bukayo Saka will once again have to make the sacrifice of his natural position.

The news is that the Arsenal manager is seriously considering playing Saka again at the left-back. However, it won’t be any surprise as Saka rather started his first-team journey at Arsenal in that position. Though the right flank may suffer, there should be no doubt that Saka lights up the left.

The 20-year-old has put up decent numbers earlier when deployed at left-back. Saka spent 34 games in the left-back/winger position. The Arsenal academy product chipped in with 3 goals and 9 assists in those games. Therefore, it is safe to say that Arsenal’s left flank won’t fumble in Tierney’s absence if Saka steps in.

Arteta’s striker preference revealed

In other developing news, there’s revelation about Arsenal and Arteta’s hunt for a new striker. Arsenal looked in no hurry to buy a striker in the winter market. Though they missed out on Dusan Vlahovic, the Gunners have displayed patience in finding their goal-poacher. However, one Arsenal youngster may just have provided us with what Arteta is looking for in the new striker.

Arsenal Under-23 striker Mika Biereth has shared his vies from working with Mikel Arteta. Biereth joined the youth ranks of Arsenal from Fulham last summer. The young prospect is making all the news with Arsenal U-23s so far scoring 11 goals in his 24 appearances.

The 19-year-old explained, “Mikel Arteta likes the striker to play in the No. 10 pocket, so it’s just about adding those little things. Becoming comfortable dropping into that space where midfielders open it up for you, which we didn’t really do at Fulham”.

Biereth’s words show what Mikel Arteta expects from his incoming striker in the summer. Arsenal could play European football next season and Arteta wants the best for his side. However, we will have to wait till the market reopens to see who the Gunners sign. Moreover, a top four finish is just as crucial for their transfer plans.
