Arsenal provides an update on the near future of their long-term target, Pedro Neto

Arsenal have been given a firm January transfer update regarding their interest in Wolves star Pedro Neto. The Portuguese international Pedro Neto was in excellent form during the first few months of the season. Contributing goals to Premier League games in eight straight games before suffering an injury.

Unsurprisingly, the Gunners decided to rekindle their interest in him after his goal returns were impressive. However, after Neto pulled up clutching his hamstring during the 2-2 draw against Newcastle in October, those links somewhat decreased. A lengthy layoff was anticipated given his history of chronic injuries. But Wolves manager Gary O’Neil clarified that this one was not as bad as the first.

Neto s future in arsenal is uncertain

In spite of this, Neto didn’t play until late last month. Making a brief appearance off the bench in the 3-0 victory over Everton. In order to increase their chances of winning the Premier League, Arteta and Edu might need to reconsider signing Neto in January. As he is unlikely to be fully fit for the game.

With a summer departure approaching for many of Arsenal’s other targets Neto s 2027 contract at Molineux seems far more likely. Thomas Frank has provided a solid update. And Brentford’s Ivan Toney is another player the Gunners are considering but is unlikely to depart this month.

He is a Brentford player,” he says on Thursday. “He is here, we miss a few offensive players and I cannot see why we should sell him. I would love to have him here for a long time. It is not for me to discuss (an offer), but if I could ever recommend one, it would need to be an unbelievable price, so he will stay here.” Given that it was unclear when exactly Neto would return from his injury, speculation has naturally been muted. However, after spending 14 minutes off the bench this past weekend, David Ornstein of The Athletic has provided a clear update.
