Arsenal reportedly had no chance to sign Moises Caicedo in the January transfer window. It is also because Brighton were going to reject all the potential bids for him in January.

Hence, the Gunners made the decision to not make a third bid for the Brighton star midfielder. However, the Gunners will try again for him in the next summer transfer window.

ARSENAL AND MOISES CAICEDO TRANSFER LINKS FULL STORY

According to reports, Arsenal tried their best to sign Brighton midfielder Moises Caicedo in the January transfer window. The report also claims that the Gunners agreed personal terms with the Ecuadorian midfielder. It also claims that manager Mikel Arteta also had a conversation with the midfielder. Hence, Moises Caicedo and his agent also tried hard to push for the move. The player even made a plea on the social media that his potential sale would benefit all the parties.

However, Brighton made it clear to Arsenal that the midfielder is not for sale. They even rejected two bids of 60 and 70 million for Moises Caicedo. Hence, the Gunners did not bother making a third bid on the deadline day. A report also claims that Moises Caicedo will now return to the regular training session with Brighton. However, Sky Sports reporter Dharmesh Sheth has also said that the chances of Caicedo leaving Brighton in the January transfer were zero.

BRIGHTON WERE NEVER GOING TO SELL THEIR IMPORTANT PLAYERS IN THE JANUARY TRANSFER WINDOW

According to Sky Sports reporter Dharmesh Sheth, Brighton were never going to sell Moises Caicedo to Arsenal in the January transfer window. They were also never going to sell their important players in the January transfer window. The Seagulls only sold Leandro Trossard to Arsenal. This is because the winger wanted to leave the club immediately. He has also had a fallout with manager Roberto De Zerbi. However, other than that sale, they were never going to actively sell their important players.

Dharmesh Sheth on interest of Arsenal in Caicedo further said, “I was told that Arsenal regardless of the Jorginho deal were ready to go at any time to sign Moises Caicedo if Brighton changed their stance from not for sale and that is the biggest if of this transfer window. That is the biggest if of the transfer window because it was never going to happen. “I’m told that whatever bid came in for Caicedo this transfer window, Brighton were not going to budge. He was simply not for sale and I can categorically say that will not happen in this transfer window.”

Hence, it is clear that Arsenal had no zero percent chance of signing Moises Caicedo in the January transfer window. However, it is also clear that the Gunners will again try for him in the next summer transfer window. Although, they will face the competition of other top clubs as the clubs will have good amount of money to spend in the next summer transfer window.
