ARSENAL STRIKER GABRIEL JESUS PROVIDES HIS INJURY UPDATE

Arsenal striker Gabriel Jesus has provided his injury update on Instagram. He has uploaded a photo of his knee with a brace. The striker has also captioned it “Second Week is gone”. Hence, the recent photo clearly states that his injury recovery is going as per the schedule. However, it is also clear that he will not recover before the schedule. Therefore, Mikel Arteta will have to play most of the second half of the season without the Brazilian striker.

This also means that a potential striker signing in January is more than important at the moment. At the moment, Arsenal are currently linked with the likes of Dusan Vlahovic and Memphis Depay. Hence, it is clear that Mikel Arteta is looking for experienced strikers. The report also claims that they will not recall Florian Balogun from his loan spell. It also claims that Mikel Arteta wants him to continue his development with Reims on his loan spell.

MIKEL ARTETA PROVIDES AN UPDATE ON THE STRIKER SITUATION

There is also a chance that Arsenal will not sign any striker in January. It is because Mikel Arteta has said that he believes in the ability of Eddie Nketiah. He has also said that he could try to play Gabriel Martinelli as a striker. There is also a possibility that their potential January transfer signing Mykhaylo Mudryk will play as a striker. However, they will have to pay the 75 million for his signature. Although, reports have claimed that the price tag is not a problem for Arsenal.

Mikel Arteta further said,

“We have other players, other alternatives and we’ll try to get that sorted. The transfer window is another option. We have other alternatives in that we can play Martinelli up front as well. We are currently a little bit short in terms of upfront positions but getting Emile [Smith Rowe] back is going to be a big one.”

Hence, it is clear that Mikel Arteta is keeping his all options open. This is because clubs can fail to sign their priority players in the January transfer window.

Therefore, the case for Arsenal is no different. There is a possibility that Mykhaylo Mudryk might not sign. Another possibility is they also fail to sign a striker in January. This is how tight and expensive January is for the top teams and players. Hence, it is clear that Mikel Arteta must find the best solution for the Gunners to replace the injured Gabriel Jesus.
