According to reports, Arsenal are reportedly interested in signing Moussa Diaby. However, it will not be easy to sign the winger. The report also states that Bayer Leverkusen are demanding a hefty fee for the player. The reason for such a high fee is due to his contract length. Moussa Diaby has a contract until 2025 with the German club. Therefore, the German club are reluctant to sell the player.

Newcastle United were also interested in signing the winger earlier this window. However, they were also priced out of a move. Although, the report also claims that Arsenal are going to make an opening offer. However, it won’t be an easy task in signing the player. Bayer Leverkusen are reportedly asking a fee around of £60million to sell Moussa Diaby.

THE PLAYER IS CURRENTLY HAPPY WITH BAYER LEVERKUSEN

The comments also indicate that the player is also happy to stay with Bayer Leverkusen. In an interview with RP Online in July, he said, ” I have taken my decision and I will play again for Bayer Leverkusen next season,” he told RP Online in July. “[It’s] up to me to keep performing well and to make it [to the World Cup]. “I will do all that I can to be able to continue to be part of the squad.

However, reports indicate that Arsenal are reportedly not going to take his comments seriously. The Gunners are going to reportedly try to sell Reiss Nelson and Nicolas Pepe. Mikel Arteta is also ready to sanction their departures if an offer arrives. They have also raised some funds by selling Lucas Torreira to Galatasaray. It looks like Arsenal director Edu Gaspar will have to try and persuade Diaby to join the club.

Another step for him will be also to convince Bayer Leverkusen to lower the fee. However, there are very less chances of that happening. Arsenal can also not afford to pay such a hefty fee for Diaby. They have already spent around £120m this summer transfer window.
