Arsenal won the North London Derby against Tottenham. They won the match 3-1. The goals of the Gunners were scored by Thomas Partey, Gabriel Jesus, and Granit Xhaka. The Gunners winger Gabriel Martinelli has said that the advice of Granit Xhaka helped them win the game. He said,
“Right after our 1st goal, he [Xhaka] calls everybody into a huddle, asking us to stay calm, saying we will score more goals. That’s when you see how important he is to players. For young players like me and Bukayo, it’s very important.”
The midfielder is having a positive impact on the team this season. He is correcting all the mistakes he has made in the past seasons. Therefore, many fans and other players in the dressing room want him to be the first name on the team sheet. The Swiss midfielder now also has a chant sung for him during the match. He is also the first one to keep a hand around on the shoulder of young players to help them settle.
Granit Xhaka will now once again be needed for Arsenal in their next Premier League match. The Gunners will be facing Liverpool in the Emirates stadium. Hence, Granit Xhaka and his teammates will have to be ready once again for a difficult test.
