Barcelona are finding it difficult to sack Ronald Koeman due to the financial issues surrounding the club. It is all over reported that Koeman is set to lose his Barcelona job in some time. However, as per recent reports, it seems Koeman might be continuing his job because Barcelona seems to have less power regarding sacking him.
Koeman has been under pressure for the past few weeks after disappointing results for Barcelona. The Catalans lost their Champions League opener against Bayern Munich by 3-0. While they drew their following match against Granada by 1-1. And had another 0-0 draw against Cadiz in the La Liga. However, Barcelona won their last league game against Levante by 3-0.
But doesn’t seem to change the thinking of Barcelona sacking Ronald Koeman. It is clearly seen that the Catalans are struggling to find a positive way around the Koeman. While the dutchman himself lacks confidence saying the best Barcelona can finish this season is top four in La Liga.
Following this, the Catalans lined a replacement list consisting of Roberto Martinez and Xavi. While reports suggest Barcelona held initial talks with Martinez about taking up the manager job. But now the replacement seems a hard way for Barcelona as a financial problem will arise if Barcelona sacks Ronald Koeman.
If in near future Koeman is to leave his Barcelona job, then the club has to pay an amount of €12 million to the dutchman. And in the current financial situation every amount of money count for Barcelona. Following it seems Barcelona have to swallow a bitter pill and let Koeman manage the team. However, if the Catalans are desperate to get rid of Koeman then they have to dig deep into their poor financial well.
